Full Job Description
The Laboratory Technician will assist with high complexity CLIA testing (PCR and serology based assays), and development of novel assays for use in the infectious disease/oncology space. We are seeking a highly motivated individual with the ability to design and conduct robust and efficient experiments to solve difficult technical problems. As a Laboratory Technician, you will report to a Senior or Principal Scientist, collaborate effectively in teams, and thrive independently.
The position requires the ability to work accurately, efficiently, and swiftly in a fast-paced lab. Candidate must have a strong desire to bring products to market. A minimum of 2 year related work experience. Expert experience with pipetting and PCR based assays is a plus.
Essential Functions
- Responsible for general laboratory support functions such as buffer preparation, reagent formulation, operation of appropriate laboratory equipment, record keeping and general laboratory upkeep including GLP
- Work in a small group performing research and development of products from feasibility through clinicals and manufacturing
- Collaborate with internal and external chemistry, engineering and manufacturing groups to research and develop markers, reagents, formulations and buffers
- Assists in the design and performance of experiments related to assigned projects and commercial products
- Works in collaboration with Senior Scientists and Research Scientists to conduct experiments that are part of development
- Working in high complexity CLIA laboratory setting
Education and Experience
- BS in chemistry, biochemistry, biology or related field
- Minimum of 2 years of related laboratory work experience
- Experience in assay development desired
Knowledge and Skills
- Basic mathematical skills
- Bio-related laboratory skills, such as buffer preparation, pipetting, immunoassay, aseptic technique
- Experience working with mammilian and bacterial cell lines
- Possess problem solving and troubleshooting skills
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- Good interpersonal skills
- Knowledge of QSR’s and ISO 9001
- Knowledge of experimental design & interpretation

Pay: $45,000.00 – $50,000.00 per year
Schedule: 8 hour shift
COVID-19 considerations: Work directly on COVID-19 related diagnostics, be comfortable working in BSL-2 setting handling COVID-19 related specimens.
